Much like your standard baseball cap, military operator caps feature a soft crown and arched brim meant to keep the sun out of your eyes. Operator hats are often designed with military camouflage patterns to help conceal soldiers' presence, a loop field on the forehead for attaching rank and insignia patches, and an additional loop field above the crown for attaching IR (infrared) glint tape that helps your fellow soldiers identify you with night vision.
